About

Louise Walsh is a UK-based beauty entrepreneur and founder of Plasmapen Ltd, the company behind the globally recognised Plasma Pen fibroblasting device. With over 30 years of experience in aesthetics, she is known for pioneering semi-permanent makeup in the UK and later developing high-end plasma technology for non-surgical skin tightening and rejuvenation.

The launch of Plasmapen

In 2016, Louise Walsh, an internationally renowned semi-permanent makeup artist, collaborated with a German engineer in Berlin to develop a device meeting her precise requirements. After testing her early devices under a different brand and witnessing their success, she introduced the PlasmaPen Classic and rebranded under the name PlasmaPen in 2017.

The birth of the CoolJet range

At a beauty expo in Singapore, Louise Walsh discovered cold plasma technology, complementing her PlasmaPen “hot” devices. This non-ablative method required no numbing and offered zero downtime, purifying and revitalizing the skin. It led to the CoolJet Classic launch, expanding the PlasmaPen portfolio.

The CoolJet Pro

Always striving to lead in innovation, Louise quickly followed the CoolJet Classic with the CoolJet Pro. This version featured a larger silicone-grip handpiece with 30% more energy output, along with innovative hair attachments and a growth-factor hair serum. This advancement opened new market opportunities for trichologists and the barbering industry.

Taking a giant leap

Recognizing the need for quality in combined plasma technologies, Louise Walsh developed the Fusion 8. Certified in three major countries, it integrates warm plasma, cold plasma, and ozone technology. With eight modalities, it offers the gentle efficacy of CoolJet and the rejuvenation benefits of PlasmaPen. Argon gas reduces plasma temperature, making it safe for all skin types with minimal downtime, significantly enhancing safety and versatility.

The Fusion Glow

Soon after the Fusion 8 launch, the Fusion Glow was introduced for clients already owning a CoolJet device who didn’t need the full Fusion 8 system, as its second handpiece had similar capabilities. Equally effective, the Fusion Glow offers the combined benefits of warm and cold plasma technologies, providing an accessible upgrade without compromising results.

A more budget friendly approach

In late 2025, Louise launched the Fusion Go to provide a budget-friendly option without sacrificing effectiveness. While simplifying the design by removing the digital screen, it still offers the same warm and cold plasma modalities as the Fusion Glow, making high-quality plasma technology accessible to more practitioners globally.
